Water has a density of 1 g/cm³ (or 1000 kg/m³) at 4°C. At room temperature it's approximately 0.997 g/cm³.
Steel has a density of approximately 7.85 g/cm³ (7850 kg/m³). Stainless steel is slightly higher at ~8.0 g/cm³.
