Convert: UTC offset arithmetic
Target time = Source time โ Source offset + Target offset
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is the primary time standard. All time zones are defined as offsets from UTC (e.g., EST = UTC-5, CET = UTC+1).
EST (Eastern Standard Time) is UTC-5. EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) is UTC-4. The US switches between them seasonally.
Find the UTC offset for both zones, subtract the source offset and add the target offset. For example, New York (UTC-5) to London (UTC+0): add 5 hours.
IST is India Standard Time, UTC+5:30. India uses a single time zone for the entire country.
